Early career began as an apprentice electrician, becoming a qualified
electrician in 1979 working for various local contractors and in 1987 for
Doncaster MBC. |

Through internal promotion was appointed as Electrical Inspector in 1987
responsible for the ordering, costing and quality checking of Electrical
Services. |
|
In 1988 appointed Assistant Electrical Maintenance Engineer with Wakefield
MDC, responsible for a team of Technicians and Surveyors engaged in
procuring electrical building services systems for Wakefield MDC and West
Yorkshire Police. |
|
In 1989 joined Sheffield City Councils Design and Building Services as an
Engineer, carrying out design and specification work for the full range of
electrical installations. |
|
Promoted to Senior Engineer in 1993 and to Team
Leader Engineer in 1995, becoming responsible for a team of Electrical
Engineers, Technicians, surveyors and on site supervisory staff carrying out
electrical services projects carried out by Design and Building Services. |
|
Appointed Principal Electrical Engineer in 2000, becoming responsible for
the day to day running of the Electrical Services division. |
|
Recent
projects include the design and
supervision of installation of electrical services i.e. lighting,
distribution, UPS, standby generation. fire and security alarms,
emergency lighting, access control, heating controls and vertical
transportation to a wide range
of commercial, retail and other premises including:
- Education and Higher Education establishments
- Hotel accommodation
- Fire and Ambulance Authority premises
- Housing (low and high rise)
- Sports and Leisure facilities
- Retail Buildings

Vocational qualifications include completion of a RIBA approved
Planning Supervisor Course - CDM Regulations. |
